Crossroads of Americana TM
Crossroads of Americana Where Country Meets Rock with J.R. Welcome to Crossroads of Americana, where country and rock collide to create a rich tapestry of stories and sounds. Hosted by John Rabold, better known as J.R., this show is the culmination of a lifelong love for music that speaks to the soul. Inspired by a memorable road trip through North Carolina in 2017, J.R. set out to craft a programme that blends the best of Americana, country, and rock. Just one month after recording his first episode, Crossroads of Americana went worldwide. Every week, J.R. takes listeners on a journey through Traditional, Outlaw, and Alt-country, alongside country-influenced rock and folk. It’s not your typical Top 40 show—expect a curated mix featuring artists like Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, The Byrds, and New Riders of the Purple Sage. With every track, J.R. captures the heart of Americana and its ability to tell stories that resonate. When he’s not on the air, you’ll likely find J.R. driving his 1996 S&S Buick Victoria Hearse, digging through his expansive record collection, or relaxing at home with his six cats—Stevie Ray, Miss Lou Ann Barton, Della, Kalamazoo, Robert Johnson (RJ), and Frogger. He’s also deeply committed to his work in organ and tissue donation, a cause that reflects his dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Crossroads of Americana isn’t just a show—it’s a celebration of music’s roots and its enduring power to connect us all. So, if you’re ready for something special, join J.R. on Coalville Public Radio for a unique blend of sounds that define the spirit of Americana.
