Emma Peters
a.k.a. Emz
Radio Presenter and Dance Enthusiast
Hi, I’m Emma Peters but on Coalville Public Radio (CPR), you’ll hear me as Emz! Although I’m brand new to the world of radio presenting, being behind the mic has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager, inspired by the local legends of the airwaves at the beloved (and now dearly missed) Radio Trent.
Music and entertainment have always been part of my story. Growing up, my mum filled the house with the smooth sounds of Easy Listening, particularly The Rat Pack Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. My extended family were no strangers to the spotlight either, with several having performed on stage and TV. For me, it was the dance floor that called. I found my groove in Ballroom, Latin, and Freestyle dance, all while developing a soft spot for the chart-topping tunes of the '70s, '80s, and, yes, boybands (no shame in loving a classic!).
When I’m not on air, you’ll find me spending time with my family. I’m a proud mum of one, devoted wife to fellow CPR presenter Kenny, and a lifelong supporter of Nottingham Forest (through thick and thin!). Joining CPR has been a leap into something new and exciting and I’m loving every second of it. Whether it’s sharing a favourite throwback tune or chatting about the things that matter to our community, I’m here to bring energy, heart, and a few good tunes to your day.
